Are you sure that you want this?
Are you really, really sure?
For the woods where I will lead you
Will leave you tainted, impure…
You may think that you’ve seen darkness
Flirted with the grays and blacks,
But when I take you in with me
There will be no turning back

Can you handle being twisted,
Part of my demented world?
Could you ever live with yourself,
After unravelled, unfurled,
I tangle you in a thousand knots,
Trap you in my nightmare shades,
Past my halfway house to Hell where
Even monsters creep afraid

You’re too pure by far, too clean,
You’re too innocent, too sweet
To know the depraved existence
That lurks here where edges meet
Contortions run in every vein
Psychotic and near insane,
Oh, not malevolent, but
Madness in me just the same

Sadness too, in equal measure,
Some days I repel the sun,
I am too used to the shadows,
To entirely be ‘the one’
I don’t need anyone’s fixing
I don’t need pity or praise,
All I want is that you love me
And you’ll find my hidden rays

So, I ask you, one more time then
Are you sure, you’re up for this?
I am awry, bent, intricate,
But it all will not persist
There is darkness, and light beyond,
Walk with me through the pitch black
And I’ll love you through it all, but
There will be no turning back…
