A Trip to the Library

A Trip to the Library

Walking into the library
Is nothing short of a dream
Rows of laden bookshelves
Tottering up to the beams
You stroll through ages
Squeeze past the aisles of lies
That are the truth of daydreaming
Hours and hours, well disguised

The myriad set of comforting smells
Of sharp new ink, musty old tomes
Each tracked over with years of love
Where eager, searching gazes roamed
Each held, and loved, and drooled upon,
Some hugged, and some that dried
From tears of dust when rusted hearts
Wrapped arms around them, and cried

Mysteries of when, of mice and men
Struggles of eons of lives
Rise up in the rows, in tumultuous throes
The books will not be denied
And at long last, many coffees past,
When it’s time for the magic to end
You can stride out to the real world
With an armful of new friends

One wonders what worlds you’ll find through reading those dusky tomes and where your imagination will take you, so grin grin and smile away 😉

Some wonderful stories laying upon racks, like tortured dreams in mountainous hardback. Delights and magic loves so tragic. Of visual intrigue and nightmares that bleed. Words of wisdom words of hidden truth, romantic novels and expressions uncouth. A palace of words written by so many welling up in illusions worth every penny. xdx Brilliant verse Cookie. A child’s kingdom of never ending stories to the histories of man in all it’s soured glories ……
