Heart of Winter -II

Heart of Winter-II

I loved you like summer
Like the warmth of the noonday sun
Like heat and ocean breezes
Like the white bleached sands, of the beaches
I loved you like summer

Like spring, I loved you
In the morning songs of birds
In the opening, smiling cups of
Flowers, I loved you
Till spring flowed on, and then
Then I loved you like rain
Wet, rivulets
Streaming down our faces
I loved you, in the hidden places of the world
In the cool, blue pebbles
At the bottoms of streams
I loved you when the storms
came to sing

I was so lost in loving you
That I even loved their fury
When they stripped and bit
and tore at me- I laughed
I spent it all, all the year through
But when I turned- half starved- to you
It was then, that I came to see

You had no love left,
in your heart of winter,
for me

Be happy that you found out now…, not years later, Cookie. Now what are you going to do about it…., and please don’t keep looking back. Forward is the only way to go. 🙂 Hugs…, Big Ones !!!

  5. This left me bereft and breathless both. Ohhhhh. I love that it is a matter of tenderness for you, even in spite of the “violence” of love grown cold…good for you, sis!

I did some work this morning…inner works of renouncing the past and cutting old things away ruthlessly. This is the year for us that the gates of grief will become the glories of grace. This is the year for us that the past is no longer allowed to be a prison, but is become a pantry of provision…providing for us wisdom learned, and earned…experience…memory is to be our servant and not our slavemaster.

I invite you to join me? It’s free, and there is nothing stopping us
