Heart of Winter

Heart of Winter

It feels like the
coldness of life
Has finally settled
into my bones
I struggle to breathe
To keep
The creeping fingers
The gnawing chill
At bay

It feels like they
Will wrap their fingers
Around my heart

It’s times like these, when
I’m mind numbingly cold
And all the sensations
Are gone

I’m grateful
I’ve got you in my heart
To keep me warm

  1. I am not so arrogant as to believe this is about me, but I do indeed offer my own heart-fire to draw close to and give you some comfort and encouragement along the way. Be blessed today and warm within, knowing that I take my own rips of the mulled wine that is your writing.

I know these feelings all too well. I know it feels like “spring” will never come. Keep on. It will come. And it will be glorious 🙂 ❤
