Maps

Maps

I’ve kissed my way down
Every inch of your body
Like an explorer, tentatively
Lingering over the spots
That make you shudder
I love to
Find places, that make you
Convulsively tighten your hands
On my arms
From feather light whispers
On your lips
To tracing invisible patterns
On your chest
I’ve taken journeys
Mapping your skin
And I know
Where to go
When you want to go home

How could I not?
You are my home

I came to your site because I went to check out what was being posted under the ‘love’ tag and ‘Maps’ was at the top of the order. I followed that by reading ‘Light of Dawn’… I have found myself lingering within your poetry as if searching for love itself, hidden amongst these beautiful words. I do apologize for intruding upon your comments section, but I could not leave your site without saying that your poetry is most magnificent and I thank you so very much for sharing it with us…
Hope your evening is most beautiful…

    • Thank you so much- your comment humbles me. I’m learning to write, and learning to love- some days, the two happen together. I am so happy that you liked them. Thank you again, for your kind words. 🙂

  3. Aaaannnnddd there it is! ❤

and thru the windows of my soul love's touch does wander
to finger walk the halls of my heart shorn of wooly crave
and carve out territory new, that undiscovered place
that cannot be completely mapped, your beautiful still face

this map will ever be a work in progress, dear
as a roving and a wandering I go, far and near
some places ever marked "there be dragons out there"
but other places, well, they're home, me safe…inside your care.

A lil ditty dedicated to those maps of the soul
